We are still working on our Science Fiction genre. Week of December 14 - 18: This week we will be working on a collaborative project in Computer Lab using Vocabulary words. This project will be done only in Computer Lab. Week of December 7 - 11 Monday: Passed out vocabulary focus worksheet (will not collect this but this will help with the final collaborative project in Computers). Symbolism lesson (create personal crest), need to see Mrs. G. for clarification. Quick write on Conflict/Cooperation (students absent do not have to make up). Tuesday: Library Wednesday: Conflict worksheet due Friday; Response Journal entry: What are you learning about the author's writing style as you read this book? Thursday: Worked on Language Arts Friday: Literature Circles at 11:00am, meet with Ms. Allen (activities planned) and 1st grade Buddies ****************************************************************************** Week of November 30 - December 4 Monday: Draw a setting from your book. This is to be done in color pencil. (This will be graded by Ms. Morell also) Response Journal: Imagine yourself physically present in your setting. Describe your surroundings. What would you expect to touch, smell, hear, and taste? (Remember that I want a complete paragraph with no grammatical mistakes. 8 sentences - minimum). Tuesday: Library Wednesday: Character Analysis graphic due Friday. Reponse Journal: What are some of the challenges your character faces in the book? (Name at least 2 challenges) Put yourself in the story/book, how would you handle those challenges? Thursday: Handed out Literature recording sheets for Character/Setting Friday: Quickwrite and Literature Circles ******************************************************************************
