1st draft of Flowers for Algernon reflective narrative: DUE TUESDAY 11/24

Write a 4 paragraph essay inspired by Charlie's experiences detailed in
Flowers for Algernon.
1st paragraph: minimum 3 sentences including a TAG (title, author, genre)
sentence, a sentence that
summarizes Charlie's sad realization that his "friends" were not true
friends, and one sentence that
connects Charlie's experience to one of your own.
2nd and 3rd paragraphs should give rich detail of your own experience with
this subject: 1)possibly
one experience for each paragraph or 2) comparing being the victim versus the
perpetrator or 3) if
you truly have personally been either, you certainly have witnessed people
being unkind to one
another --try "walking two moons in someone else's moccasins"and imagine what
is like to be
either.
4th paragraph: Analyze (don't summarize) what you have just written. Make
sure you tie it into your
introduction regarding Charlie and Flowers for Algernon. Minimum 3 sentences
*concentrate your first draft on getting a compelling story down on paper--
you can add your dialog,
sensory language and "brushstrokes" in the final draft.
