from each chapter. Identify: vocabulary words, similes, metaphors, idioms,
golden lines and examples of personification. Leave some extra room at the
end of each chapter to add anything you miss when we correct in class.
Writing:
Complete your QuickWrite (prompt: diary entry of a perfect day from a
kindergartner's point of view)
Final draft of your autumn-themed acrostic poem is DUE THURS 11/5
It must have at least 8 letters vertically; the focus of the grade will be on
descriptive word choice--use sensory language so that the reader can
really "see, hear, smell, feel, taste" whatever you are describing. Replace
ordinary verbs with extraordinary ones! Be creative--you can use any font--
make the vertical word(s) bold. Lastly, decorate your poem to go with your
word/theme.
