SCHOOL CALENDAR:

Final Day of School is Thurs 6/4.  Graduation ceremony begins at 5:00 p.m.  Minimum Day on 6/4:

Per. 1:  8:00-8:53

Weds 6/3:  No assignments!  You have successfully completed the course.  Congratulations!

YOU HAVE TWO CHOICES for this week:  write summaries OR answer the questions I have 
selected for you.  THIS ASSIGNMENT, CHAPTERS 21 & 23, is due on: Weds 6/3.  CHOICES BELOW:

IF YOU PREFER TO WRITE THE SUMMARIES, please do the following - 

"CHOICE ONE":  Read Chapter 21, an informative section about the early African American civil rights 
era.   Pages 699-725.  Write a one-page (full page) reflection (narrative or bullet point), in which you 
note the important ECONOMIC, SOCIAL, and POLITICAL events/issues of the era.  Then...in a 
sentence or two each, describe what issue/event was most interesting or surprising to 
you...AND...what issue/development/event was, in your opinion, the most  important/significant to 
the Civil Rights movement....AND...

Read Chapter 23, an interesting chapter about various Movements in Post War America.  Pages 767-
787.  Write a one-page (full page) reflection (narrative or bullet point), in which you note the 
important ECONOMIC, SOCIAL, and POLITICAL events/issues of the era. Then...in a sentence or two 
each, describe what issue/event was most interesting or surprising to you...AND...what 
issue/development/event was, in your opinion, the most  important/significant Chapter 23 topic.  
BOTH CHAPTER 21 & 23 are due on Weds 6/3.

•	Read 700-707 (21.1), Do: #3,5 p707 (and read only: 708-709).
•	Read 710-716 (21.2), Do: #4 p716.
•	Read 717-723 (21.3), Do: #4 p723 (and read only: 724-725).
•	Read 768-773 (23.1),  776-780 (23.2), 781-785 (23.3), Do: #1,3 "CRITICAL THINKING" p788. 
•	Read only: 786-787 (a fun look at culture in the 1960s).    Questions are due on Weds 6/3.

IMPORTANT:  SELECT ONLY “CHOICE ONE” OR “CHOICE TWO” for the Chapters 21 & 23 homework.


Weekend:  Complete this week's Chapter 21 & 23 homework.  Work on study guide for Final.

   #8 on p630 (Main Ideas section) - for 18.4

Tuesday 5/19:  Skim Chapter 20:  670-78 (20.1)  #1 OR #2 p678...and...679-83
(20.2)  #5 p683...and...686-93 (20.3)  #2 p693 OR #1 p692. 

Wednesday 5/20:  See Tuesday.

Thursday 5/21:  Skim Chap. 22 "Vietnam War". pp730-61.  Answer questions 1-10
on p764  "MAIN IDEAS" (BE SURE YOU ANSWER THE "MAIN IDEAS" QUESTIONS).  NO "HOMEWORK 
CHOICE" FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT.  

Weekend:  
  *Decades Project (Complete the physical project, type your written reflection with
    MLA-formatted Bibliography page) 
  *Study Guide for Cold War Group Activity Assessment (mandatory for group quiz on Weds 5/27)
  *Ex. Credits (Chap. 19 and Chap. 26 due on 6/3),.

o	 90s: (chapters 25,26).  
o	YOUR TEXTBOOK COUNTS AS A NON-INTERNET SOURCE, although I encourage you to
utilize 
other non-internet sources (Ms. Murdoch, your librarian, can offer guidance).
