Course Expectations
-
Be an active attentive learner. Pay attention. Listen
carefully, Participate in class. Use the website to see
testing schedule, essay questions, identification quizzes homework
assignments, etc.

Please bring the following items everyday: notebook, pen,
textbook.

If you are absent with an excused reason, check with me or another student to
see what you have missed. If you have missed the daily
identification quiz, please turn in unit textbook notes (students may choose
their own note taking style) within two days of your return to class to
receive credit for missed daily quizzes. Students are only allowed to miss
three daily quizzes.

I will follow all San Marcos policies including policies on tardiness and
truancy.

Students should expect two to three hours of reading and/or homework each
night. Students will be expected to learn much of the
content of U.S. History on their own through textbook and supplemental
reading. (See course overview for more information about the goals of the
course.)

Students should be prepared to arrive at school early on the day of the
mid-term and final exams. Those exams will begin at 7:00 AM.

Students are expected to attend occasional evening seminars and spring review
sessions. (Evening seminars will probably be held on
Tuesday evenings. More details will be provided later in
the course.)

Students are expected to take the AP US History Exam. Students
are expected to study for the exam and attend mandatory AP review sessions.
Students should look for information in the bulletin or see Mrs.
Willbanks during the last few weeks of term three.

all homework assignments, identification and essay questions, and other
important information.

Due to the fact that I have two small boys at home, this will be the only
class that I teach. I will be available in my classroom
(967-4581, ext. 335) from 7:30-8:00 and during nutrition and by appointment
during second period and/or lunch on Tuesday and Thursdays. If
you need to reach me in the afternoons or early evenings (not after 9:00 PM),
you may contact me at home at 683-3038.
