What it is:

Accelerated Reader is a reading program that encourages your child to read a book and then be tested on it. The tests are on the computers throughout the school. By answering 60% or more of the questions correctly, your child will receive points based on the length of the book and its reading level.

How to Participate:

Students are tested to find their reading levels. They choose AR books and read them at their own pace.

A wide variety of AR books in the library are marked with a speeding red book label on the bottom of the spine and a color coded dot at the top of the spine that indicates the reading level of that book.

An Accelerated Reader book list is available on this site. Parents and students may use the list to find book titles or to search by reading level. Once the student has completed a book, he/she can take a test using a computer in the library or classroom. Opportunities are available every day during the school year. Points earned will be accumulated and will be used for awards.

Our ultimate goal for our students is the reward of READING in itself, as a life-long pleasure.
