Have a restful and fun vacation, but don't totally neglect your instrument! Play at least a little bit,
even if it's songs you already know. Perform for your family! New recordings are going up soon for

Our Marie Callender's pie sale was a big success. We sold over 200 pies and raised over $800!
Thank you to everyone who participated. Now we are collecting the empty pie tins to return for
additional credit (we get 50 cents per tin) so if you've finished your pies please bring the tins to Mrs.
Keenan. Thanks!

It's the start of a new trimester and everyone has a chance for a good grade in band. Come to class
prepared, turn in your practice logs, and be at our upcoming performances, and you will succeed!

We are selling Marie Callender's Thanksgiving pies now until November 10! Order your pie from any
music student grade 4th-8th, or help us sell pies by picking up an order form in the office and
selling to neighbors, coworkers, and friends. All orders are due November 10 by 8:45 am.

The much-anticipated Pasta Dinner is tomorrow! We have a great menu planned and excellent
entertainment by many of our own SAC teachers, so it is an event not to be missed! You can still buy
tickets after school today and tomorrow for $8 each, or at the door for $10. See you there!

The deadline to sign up for the spring trip to Universal Studios is this Friday, October 2. In order to
reserve a spot you need to turn in the permission slip with the $65 deposit. Email Mrs. Keenan with
any questions (email link to the left).

The first Band Booster meeting of the year is tomorrow, Monday 9/14 at 6:30 pm in the band room.
Parents get volunteer hours just for attending. Also, Spring Trip information went home Friday!

Band books are now on sale in the front office. Percussion books are $11 and all other books are
$9.
You can also buy books and other supplies tonight only at the WAMS band room at 7:00pm.
Representatives from American Music will be there with instruments to rent if you still need one and
all
other supplies to purchase.

Our band program has grown! So much so that we are running out of instruments! If you know of
anyone who has an instrument that they are not using, and they are willing to donate or lend it to the
school, please contact Mrs. Keenan. We want all students interested to have a chance to participate
in
music.

Recordings are up! Go to the "Recordings" link to listen to the pieces we are playing in class.

The first practice log went home today. They are due Friday, September 4. This is a weekly
assignment
for all band students, due every Friday in class.
Accent on Achievement books have been ordered and will be on sale in the office sometime next
week.
Look for another announcement for when the books have arrived.
