Message from the Principal

Hello Sanger Academy Parents,

The staff and I are looking forward to another wonderful year for you and your family.

Our number 1 goal is topping our 2008-2009 Academic Performance Index (API) and Adequate Yearly Progress(AYP) scores.

Our first district progress assessments indicate that your children are on the path towards our API goal of 900 and our AYP goal of 80% of all 2nd -8th grade students scoring advanced or proficient in Math and English-Language Arts.

We are also looking forward to continued success in athletics and co-curricular activities. Our Fall student athletes have already served notice that they will be championship contenders in Football, Volleyball and Cross Country. Our Cheer and Spirit team kicked off our year by leading Sanger Academy to a Spirit Award at the Elementary Sports Carnival.

The Sanger Academy Marching Band will begin their competitions in the month of October and we look forward to seeing our student musicians represent Sanger Academy with enthusiasm and pride.

Our talent show is less than a month away and I see students rehearsing and preparing to showcase their talents.

6th, 7th, and 8th grade Students are starting to prepare for the rigor of our Science Fair which is the prelude to our competitions at the District, Regional and State Level.

The Sanger Academy Bears are off to a great start!

Dress Code Clarification

This is to clarify T-shirts or polo shirts days: Students will need to be in full uniform top everyday except for the following: Fridays - Spirit T-shirts only. Early Release days- Students can wear Triathlete, STAR or Athletic T-shirts.
Any designated Free Dress Day will be on the last early release day of the month.

Community of Caring Food Drive

We will be collecting canned foods and non-perishable food items for needy families in Sanger. Students will start bringing food items on Wednesday, December 2nd. Please put the food items in your classroom Community of Caring Basket. The food drive will end on Friday, Dec. 18th. A recent article in the Sanger Herald mentioned that the local food banks are empty. They can't keep up with the demand that is out there. Let's encourage our SAC Community to help by encouraging students to bring what they can from home.

FLU Notice and Information

FLU NOTICE AND INFORMATION
The Flu can easily be spread from person to person, therefore, we are taking steps to reduce the spread of flu in our school district. Here are a few things that we will be encouraging our students and yourself to do to help:
• Teach your children to wash their hands.
• Teach your children not to share personal items.
• Know the signs and symptoms of the flu.
• Keep sick children at home for at least 24 hours after they no longer have fever.
• Do Not send children to school if they are sick.
• Get your child vaccinated against seasonal and H1N1 influenza.

Parent Involvement
Why parent volenteers do what we do!
Why is Parent Involvement in their child's education so important? Besides all the research that proves students do better in school, are more apt to graduate high school and attend college, it's also common sense. See what other parents have to say about being a part of the educational process.
