Welcome to ROOM 27's Weekly Announcements!
Each month announcements will go home so you know, as parents/guardians, what will be
happening in room 27. It will tell you what we are learning, upcoming events, and any needs for our
classroom. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me through email,

Please encourage your child to complete their homework each night. If they are you have any
questions, they may come to HOMEWORK CLUB any morning at 7:30.

What we are Learning
* Language Arts: This month we will be talking about the main ideas or big ideas of different stories we
are reading.
*Vocabulary: Our class will begin to learn a variety of Greek and Latin roots and prefixes to help us
better understand vocabulary words we do not know.
* Language Conventions: We will go over prepositional phrases, coordinating conjunctions, and
appositives.
* Math: This month we will be learning how to multiply and divide multi-digit numbers. The students
will have detailed notes for each standard. If they have any questions, please make sure that come to
Homework Club, which is EVERY morning at 7:30 am.
* Writing: We will be learning how to write personal narratives. These are stories about various subjects
where the student is the main character.
* Science: Our class will be discussing the magnetizing topic of MAGNETS!

Important Information
1. Cookie dough sales are going on right now! All the money that we raise will go towards our 4th
grade field trip!!! If we can raise enough, we will be going to Mission San Juan Bautista. The money is
due on Thursday, October 8th.
2. October book orders will be due next Thursday, October 8th as well!
3. Please don’t forget to sign your child’s weekly reports each week and their reading logs each night
4. THANK YOU for all the supplies that you have donated to our classroom over the last two months!!!
