Dear Parents,
What a GREAT program. The kids were so good. They practiced hard and they performed
beautifully.
We had 16 children there!!! Thanks for bringing them. I know you loved it too:)
Maezi's mom came in today, Friday, and helped the kids make a Dr. Seuss rhyming game that will
be sent home over the holidays. She also helped them begin Christmas stockings.
If you are interested in helping with the Christmas party on the last day of school, please contact her.
She and Alexander's mom are already planning. Remember that is a minimum day 9:30 - 12:30.
We are testing again next week. This time it is a timed test. The children must repeat the sounds I
say and are scored for how many they can repeat in 1 minute. You can help them by playing a game
with them about letters. Say a letter, then say 2 letters, then 3, etc. Children should be able to
remember 3 letters. If they can remember 5 that's great. Oh, yes - you must say the letters quickly.
For example: b
then b, r
then b, r, p
then b, r, p, a
then b, r, p, a x
You can also play this game with items in the grocery store, things on the Christmas tree, family
names, etc.
Have you ever played: I am going on a trip and I am going to pack: each player takes turns saying
an item usually in ABC order. The one who can remember the most wins.
For example
Mom says: I am going on a trip and I am going to pack an apple.
Dad says: I am going on a trip and I am going to pack an apple, and a baseball.
Child says: I am going on a trip and I am going to pack an apple, a baseball, and a cat.
Mom says: I am going on a trip and I am going to pack an apple, a basketball, a cat, and a dog.
OOPs mom is out.
New link for learning in Link section:) Under the ABC option, the activity goes right along with our
literature this week and our math shapes: The Gingerbread Man.
It is fun building your child's learning skills. Enjoy your weekend and the holiday. Ms W
