Rooms 7 ~ Week of November 30, 2009

Welcome back! I hope you all had a relaxing and fun filled Thanksgiving break. It is hard to think
about how fast the time flies. We only have a few weeks left of school before our winter break. I know
how busy we all get at this time of year, so lets not forget the reason for the season and have a festive
time.

In Language Arts and Reading we will be making predictions and inferences and also be working on
problem solving. In writing we will be going over the parts of a friendly letter. In math we will begin our
unit on adding tens and ones. We will go over regrouping and adding two digit numbers. For those
students who have not reached their goal of 100 addition problems in five minutes they will be bringing
home math facts to practice with each night. These math facts are not to be timed just for practice.

A few things to keep in mind for the next few weeks. We will be starting our Make-A-Wish
Fundraiser starting tomorrow. Students may bring a dollar for a cup of hot chocolate first thing in the
morning to support this worthy effort. The Sanger Toyland Parade is Saturday, December 5 at 11:00. all
students are invited to either ride on the Quail Lake float or walk in the parade. Please return the
permission slip before Friday.

Our winter program is coming soon. Grades K-3 will be performing Thursday, December 10th at
6:30 don't miss out on this wonderful performance.

We are starting of the new trimester with new AR goals. Each child has a goal that fits their ability
level. As your child reads at home have them write down the name of the book and the quiz number so
they can take their quizzes at recess or during their center time.

It’s going to be a fantastic week!
