What grades does Reagan serve, and What time does school begin and end?
Reagan is a K-5 school. School is scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m. and will end 2:30 p.m.
What time does kindergarten operate?
KIndergarten classes run from 8-1:00 p.m. and from 8-12:30 p.m. on minimum days.
How many kindergarten classes will you have and what time will it end.
The number of classes for kindergarten is dependent upon enrollment. We are scheduled to begin
with three classes. We will be running an extended day program from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
What sports programs will we have?
Reagan offers all the extra-curricular and co-curricular activities that all other schools offer.
inclusive of the following; football, volleyball, x-country, track, softball, basketball, chess, drama,
choir and other clubs.
What programs/clubs will be avaliable?
We plan on offering all sports (with the exception of football for the first year) GATE, Peer Mediation,
Student Council, Cheer, Funworks, Journalism, Yearbook, Band, Drama and Choir (just to name a few).
Will you have an afterschool program?
We applied for an afterschool program in the spring and we did NOT receive approval. The district will
be re-applying in Spring 2009.
What staffing changes do we have in place?
Reagan is in the process of hiring one new 5th grade teacher. Mr. Santos is moving to 4th grade
with Ms. Tamura. Ms. Westbury is moving to 2nd grade and Ms. Barnes is moving to first grade.
Transfer to Reagan
We currently are not accepting transfers in grades 1, 2 and Kinder. All transfer applications must start
at their home school and then brought to Reagan for final approval.

You can be involved in the PTO at Reagan anytime. Please contact Sonia Gomez at the Reagan office.
Will Reagan be a uniform school?
No, Reagan will follow the Sanger Unified District Dress Code Policies, as stated in the parent
handbook, that is passed out at the beginning of each school year. We will not be a uniform school
other than
having students follow the district dress code.
Will Reagan be taking Teacher Request from parents?
Yes, Reagan elementary takes teacher requests in May of the proceeding school year. May 2009 will be
the next time we will take teacher requests.
Can we change teachers during the year.
Reagan is limited on the number of teachers in each grade level and extreme efforts are made to
balance classes both academically and by the number of students. After the school year begins,
class changes are not considered. Only in extreme circumstances and/or academic delivery needs
does
this occur. Since Reagan is implementing a flexible grouping model, students are taught at various
times by all the teachers in a grade level. Therefore, in many cases your child will be taught by the
team of teachers in that grade level for various subjects, and not confined to the teacher they are
assigned.
