Dear all,

Service Learning
I am excited to be able to present our service learning module.
There are 2 elements to it. The first is local. We will be doing various service activities in the community, including
Gifts and baskets for the Santa Inez mission (December), decorating place mats for the Santa Inez Senior center (next week), and visiting direct relief international sometime in the early spring. Thanks to Barbara Candy for putting this together,
There is also another, international, component that I am in the process of putting together. More news next week!
Field Trips
We have a field trip to the Art from Scrap Watershed center, all day, on Wednesday 2nd of December. Please let me know if you are able to drive.
Curriculum
WW4 is an Explorer PowerPoint project. This will be part of our 4 week Social Studies unit on Explorers to the New World.
Our new Book club (4) is a free choice.
In Mathematics we have a team and individual test on fraction concepts at the end of the week.
Please see the website for dates.
Wish List

Student work
I will send home the Weekly Quizzes to be signed on Thursday of this week, as the students only completed them yesterday.
Thanksgiving Feast
We are bringing in mashed and sweet potatoes for the school. Please return the form to Barbara Candy.
All school assembly
With the Middle school away next week on their trips, it is a great opportunity for the 5th grade class to step up and show their leadership skills to the rest of the elementary school.
One of the activities they will be doing will be to lead next week’s Tuesday assembly.
Holiday Song
I would like to get an idea for a song and dance routine nailed down before the Thanksgiving break.
Please let me know if you have any expertise in this area.
