We will be having our next Big Sur meeting the week after Spring Break.

We will be having a Car Wash on Saturday April 21st, 10am – 2pm.
Thanks to Tonya, Kim, and Kay for helping put this together.
All money collected will go into a "central pot", and students will use this as credit against their Big Sur money, (depending on how many hours they work).
All students are expected to attend for a part of the time.
Last year we had 100% participation, and everyone had a lot of fun

I hope everyone is well. An early letter as we have lots going on this week.
Student Academics & Conferences
I look forward to seeing everyone at conferences this week.
I will be giving out the Report Card and a Gradebook Summary in your conference.
1.00am finish all week.
Colonial Day
We will be having a Colonial Day this Friday as the climax of our unit.
As you all know, students are required to dress up in Colonial Costume.
It is not as daunting as you might think.
Please refer to the website for ideas and details.
This will be part of their Grade.
I would like students to bring their clothes to school a day early on Thursday 15th March

This Friday, there will be 3 groups doing activities between 12pm & 1pm.
The Southern Colonies group is serving food.
The 4 recipes are on the website.
We will be preparing the food at home this year.
If anyone would like to do this, please let me know by Tuesday. I can help with the ingredients.
Please choose one that you can do, and involve your child in the process.
We have done this in previous years, and it has been a lot of fun.
In addition, Tonya has Colonial activities set up in the Garden.

Santa Barbara Rugby
As you know, many of our students have become very interested in rugby.
With this in mind, the Santa Barbara youth soccer academy is looking for players.
They practice at the Santa Barbara Montessori School, boys & girls ages 8-14, Friday 3.00-4.30.
Their first game league game is coming up soon.

Our first Field trip of the year is To the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Friday February 3rd. This is in the morning.
The guest presenter will be Gore Vebinski , the director of Rango and Pirates of the Caribbean. We will combine this with another activity in the early afternoon.
