I grew up in the Roseville area and attended Oakmont High School. After
high school, I moved to Chico to attend Chico State. I spent 6 years in
Chico studying to become a teacher and student teaching. The
Roseville area has always been home to me, so in 2004 I accepted a
teaching position in the Roseville City School District and moved back
"home." I started teaching at Sierra Gardens Elementary in Fall 2004 in
the fifth grade. In the Fall of 2007, I ventured up to 6th grade. I
am pleased to have brought some of my 5th graders from the last year up with
me. It was an exciting year. In the Fall of 2008 I will be moving back down to
5th grade for a few years. It is my hope to move up to 6th grade again one day!
On December 16, 2006, I had my first baby...a baby girl. Her name is
Izabella Alina. On January 23, 2009 we welcomed our baby boy, Zacarias
Ambrose, into the world. It has been an exciting journey working full time and
being a mommy too.
A little more about me: I enjoy exercising and yoga. I have the desire to
eat well, but sometimes the Dove Chocolate and Starbursts get the best of
me. I absolutely love working with children. They have a way of making your
day brighter. I love music...my students can vouch for that! I enjoy my
daily cup of coffee. When I get the chance I love getting out on the open
road to drive and to travel to new places. I enjoy golfing, shopping and
watching live soccer...especially when Arturo or my students
are playing.
Overall, I find myself to be a positive person who allow my students to
dream big!
"If you can DREAM it, you can DO it!" -Walt Disney
My vision for my class is for each of my students to become a
responsible, organized, and self reflecting learner. To accomplish this
goal my students are given opportunities to become responsible
citizens through taking ownership for their actions and given the chance
to problem solve through issues that may arise in their daily lives. My
students will become life long learners by reflecting on their daily
learning and activities. Through the use of this vision, I am helping to
create students who will become successful citizens of this community.
