Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome back! Welcome to 2010! It is great to see all these bright, shiny
faces so eager to learn. I hope you all had a restful and peaceful holiday.
Although it is a short week, we will begin working right away and keep up a
pretty good pace for the next few weeks.

This Week In:
LANGUAGE ARTS: we will read Yang the Second and Her Secret Admirer. We will
focus on prefixes and suffixes, we will also work with how to punctuate
quotations properly when writing.
MATH: We will begin our exploration of decimals, but we will continue to
review the four operations with fractions too.
SOCIAL STUDIES: Unit 3: The Fight for a Continent
SCIENCE: Students are with Mrs. Alameda learning about biology and life
science.
