RoARy’s Accelerated Reader Program (AR)
The following Accelerated Reader information is for the academic year 2011-2012. Students will be earning points for the Accelerated Reader quizzes they take throughout the school year. Students will be able to attend AR Reading Celebrations when they reach the Paw, Cub and Tiger levels. Every student who gets to the Paw level by May 4, 2012, will attend the End of the Year AR Celebration, which is provided by Solorio’s PTA.
Students will also earn Tiger Dollars for the points they receive for taking AR quizzes. Tiger Dollars can be spent in the library to purchase items like folders, pencils, and other treats. In addition, students may be recognized by their teachers at the grade level trimester awards assemblies for their AR levels. At the celebrations, PTA will recognize the class from each grade with the most points and the student from each grade with the most points earned by the deadline.

The library is open before school at 7:45 and after school until 3:15. Parents may take their children into the library to read books and take AR quizzes. Students may not be left alone in the library during these times. Before school, just come through the office. Also, if you need the names of AR books, there is a list on the Etiwanda School District website, www.etiwanda.org, under library resources. The lists are also available at the local public libraries.
