Gabrielino Walk - 11/15/11
- In this program the students experience the lifestyle of the local Native Americans when they: 'shop' among the native plants for food, medicine and building materials; twine rope for making tools; test native hunting practices; create music using natural instruments; act out a native legend; learn which natural resources were valuable; and drill shell necklaces used for trading.
Wild Wetlands- 2/9/12
- The students discover a wetland ecosystem through the following hands-on activities: bird watching with binoculars, playing a food chain game, going on a scavenger hunt to discover the life in the wetland, learning the components of the ecosystem by creating a model of the wetland, and touching a live wetland animal.
Retreat at Sacred Heart Retreat Center- 4/26/12
