About The Teacher

I began my school career in a small K-12 country school in the Finger Lakes 
area of Western New York.  The teachers and the experiences that I had while 
I was in school led me to my own career decision.  I have known that I 
wanted to be a teacher since I was in the 4th grade!   I received my B.S. 
degree from the State University of New York at Oswego in elementary 
education and art.  This led to N, K-6 and Art K-12 certifications.  After 
graduating, I taught in the New York public schools for 4 years.  Vacations 
to California to visit friends helped me make my decision to stay on the 
West Coast.  

After arriving in San Carlos, I began substituting and soon after was 
offered an opportunity to teach at St. Charles School.  I accepted and the 
rest now seems to be history.  Later educational pursuits led to a Master’s 
degree from the Institute for Catholic Education Leadership at the 
University of San Francisco.  Having started my education in a K-12 school, 
St. Charles School with its K-8 curriculum has been a wonderful “fit”.  The 
children and the families at St. Charles have made this a wonderful 
community of which to be a part and I am looking forward to yet another 
great year!
