Greetings to all!

Thank you for visiting our Technology Webpage. St. Francis of Assisi School continues their commitment to provide students with opportunites to learn with new technologies. The first trimester comes to an end soon and the students are adapting well to working with classroom curriculum and technology in the lab. Teachers are coming into the lab and instructing their students with web based lessons, social studies projects, language arts assignments and Jr. High Literature classes are taking place in the lab also. The newly acquired Smartboard resides in the 8th grade classroom with Mr. Webber. Teachers are able to conduct classes using the Smartboard when available.

8th  grade students have begun to build their ePortifolio's on-line, using collaborative learning environments. The ISTE NETS have recently been updated to help reinforce digital age learning skills. As students practice and develop these skills, they will achieve life long learning tasks that involve much more than using a computer. Students emerge with creative, collaborative, communicative and innovative experiences with other students in and outside the classroom.

Students in Jr. High will learn to create and design their own websites using Google Apps for Education. 8th graders will use different tools with similar outcomes. SFA assures that students work will be secure and privately viewed. Students will demonstrate computer concepts, systems, and operations, by using new technologies and Web Tools 2.0.

I look forward working with the students in the computer lab and teaching new ways that make learning fun.
