MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
December 4, 2013
Dear 5th Grade Parents and Students,
As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior, it is my hope that each of your families are blessed with happiness and peace.
The Real Reason
Excitement and joy are filling the air;
The lights add special decor.
We’re shopping for Christmas gifts everywhere,
But are gifts what Christmas is for?
The wreaths and the trees and the parties
Aren’t what we need to convey;
It’s the birth of our Savior, Jesus,
The real reason for this holiday.

5th Grade Service Project-“It is in giving that we receive”
The 5th grade is hosting a service learning project to benefit the Concord Women and Children Homeless Shelter. We will be partnering with the Concord Police Department to provide Christmas gifts for over 55 people who are currently living in the shelter. This service learning opportunity will be executing in several ways.
Thank you to all of the 5th graders who served their families and others during the Thanksgiving Break. We were able to raise over $500.00 for the Shelter.
We will coordinate a schoolwide Toy and Diaper Drive. Please bring a new unwrapped toy or box of diapers to help make Christmas much brighter for the the Shelter. Please send your donation with your student or place donation in the box outside of the school office.
In addition, the 5th graders will coordinate the sale of “Christmas Free Dress Passes” which all students at SFA can purchase for $2.00. Those with a pass will be allowed to wear red, green or Christmas themed clothing on Tuesday December 17th.
Thanks in advance for your support for this very important cause!

Christmas Play & Costumes
The Christmas Program is fast approaching. We will have two shows, Wednesday December 18th @ 1:00pm and Thursday December 19th @ 7:00. Students need to be in the 5th grade classroom no later than 6:40pm.
Each class will have a specific dress code based on their given song. Our song is about San Francisco. Students have been working very hard on this difficult (very wordy) song. I would like all students to wear black bottoms ( boys: slacks, black jeans; girls: black pants, skirt with full tights). As for the top, please have them wear something San Francisco related. (Alcatraz, Pier 39, Golden Gate Bridge, Giants …. & so on) Please do not go out and buy anything. if you have something, great! If not, please wear please wear Christmas colors (red and/or green). Please contact me if you any questions.Thank You & Congratulations
