Dear Parents,Many of you have shared good news with me about your child practicing new good habits or breaking old bad habits during this Lenten Season. We have two and a half weeks left to make this a season they will always remember. Practice makes perfect. Please continue to motivate your child to try even harder during this last stretch. Hopefully he/she will make every future Lenten Season a time to truly strengthen their faith ...at the same time become a better person. In Family Life we have been discussing your families. Some of you attend weekly Mass and share family prayers. Some of you do not. Please try to attend Mass on some weekends. Truly this will help strengthen your child's faith. Maybe your child could lead the blessing at your meal every Sunday. This may become a family ritual. Your child would enjoy this.In Religion we are learning about the gifts the Holy Spirit sends us. The seven gifts that I'm asking your child to celebrate and practice are the following:self-controlpatiencekindnessgentlenessjoyfulnesspeacefulnessloveHopefully your child is practicing and sharing these gifts with you at home.Tomorrow I will be sending home your child's graded work. Please look through the exams, classwork, homework and projects. Please comment on their progress. It is important that you praise them and give constructive criticism when due. Handwriting is an easy area to discuss. If you see that I have modeled a lower case 'e' for your child over and over...your direct comment may just be what your child needs. There are still many students that do not print their full name correctly. Again...your support would greatly help. When you look through their exams you'll notice areas that need attention. In class we are having more small groups and one on one... addressing these areas as well. Hopefully your child will master all of these skills within the next ten weeks.I will truly be sad to see this class go on to second. I love each and every one very much. They are such a joy to be with. They have grown up quite a bit.Report cards will be issued next Friday, March 30th. Most of the students have made excellent progress. All of the students have better study habits and have learned a lot. I'll do my best to make these last ten weeks as successful as possible.I want to thank Mrs. Weaver and Mrs. for teaching the class for a day. The Junior Achievement program went very well. Both of our teachers did a great job.Happy Spring. Love and prayers,Sr. Sharon________________________________________
