To introduce students to our new spelling curriculum for next year, we will have a trial run of the program next week. On Monday students will take a 10 word pretest. They do not know the words or the spelling pattern that will be tested. They will learn it after the pretest. The pretest will show how familiar with the pattern they already are. Throughout the week we will complete a couple of activities that practice using the spelling pattern with a variety of words. On Friday we will have the spelling test. Students will only be told 10 of the words that will be on the test. The other 10 words will follow the same spelling pattern and students will have worked with throughout the week. Please do not stress out about the new routine. This is to familiarize students with the changes for next year.
Please continue to practice online at the First in Math website, an online center for practicing math concepts and facts through games and awards. Please SAVE your child's unique sign in name and password so that he or she can practice daily! This program will be available to your child through July 31st, so please take advantage while we have access.
Facts MUST be mastered this quarter. Please continue to study each night with flashcards or by printing out the tests from the Links page. This will help with fractions!
For students who need practice with fractions, please copy and paste the link below and watch the video. After viewing the tutorial, please click on the green Practice this Concept button in the upper right hand corner of the video for student practice.
