Discussions:
1. Do not glue items for posters on the new lunch table.
2. Money for the next raffle basket is due this Friday.
3. Have an approved script ready for each presentation in front of the whole
school. Use the microphone correctly, and make sure that you use proper
posture. Don’t run up to Mrs. Miller at the last minute before your speech to
get it approved.
4. Ideas for clubs included: video games, music, movies, debate, project, anime

November 10, 2009
Meeting is called to order

Open issues
A. Ecology Skit (ECOLOGY/MR. SULLIVAN)
1. Ecology officers to have skit proofed/reviewed by the Ecology moderator
(Mr. Sullivan).
2. See Ms. Lyon’s for a morning assembly date to perform skit
3. Provide the above to Student Council at next meeting.
B. Christmas Raffle Basket (FINANCE/MS. MOSS)
1. $3.00/member is due to Mrs. Miller by Friday, November 20th.
2. Finance will purchase items for and assemble basket.
3. Jeremy will provide wording and list of basket items to Ms. Moss by October
24th.
4. Next meeting flyer/poster prep and deadline as well as student store
schedule TBD.
C. Clubs (GENERALS)
1. Generals to have a written plan for one club and will present in detail at
next council meeting. Generals will choose a club topic with broad appeal.
D. Thanksgiving Drive (RELIGION/FINANCE)
1. Mrs. Miller has confirmed that the Religion Officers are responsible for
this function.
2. Religion should see Mrs. Doe/Ms. Peck to get drive dates.
3. Posters and flyers should be approved and up by Monday, November 16th.
4. Please prepare a written announcement to be read at next week’s morning
assembly. Please have Ms. Moss or Ms. Miller approve.
E. Next Spirit Rally (SPIRIT/MS. MILLER/MS. MOSS
1. Ideas for next Rally: Cartoon Day (Nickelodeon, Looney Tunes, Hanna
Barbara, Disney) and “Spaced Out” (Star Trek, Star Wars, MIB, Alien, Astronaut)
2. Mrs. Miller will see Faculty and obtain rally date and choose a theme.

Missing: 4th and 6th grade reps
Spirit Rally:
Posters: One big one in the front of the school.
One in each courtyard
All due by Fri.
The huge one in the hall is due before the Spirit Rally by a day.
Games:
Musical Chair - Little kids - 2 per grade
Music Trivia - Older kids- 2 per grade
Script needs to be done by Friday night by Spirit and Generals helping.
Theme: Decade day (1950s- 1990s)
Student Council Minutes-October 22
Absent: Mitchel
Tardy: Lina
Ecology: Start getting posters, advertisements, etc. that encourage people to
recycle.
Finance: Make sure that the Student Store is selling Halloween raffle tickets.
Work with Publicity to create three posters to advertise the Halloween raffle
basket.
Yearbook: Get a script prepared and approved for yearbook committee sign-ups.
Announce it at morning assembly.
Publicity: Make sure you help the Finance officers make posters regarding the
Halloween raffle basket. Also, come up with a skit about joining photography
for the Yearbook Committee. Meet with Mrs. Moss to discuss this topic, and
come up with an appropriate due date. To fulfill your goal, start working on
making more posters, and make the birthday board extra fancy.
Secretaries: Continue to post the minutes on time and have them proofread.
Make sure that the class representatives are going around to the classes and
having the classes vote on Spirit Rally topics.
Religion: Be prepared to have the posters up and the skit ready for
Trick-or-Treat for Unicef by Monday. Figure out the schedule for the blessing
of the Unicef boxes and make sure that Mrs. Do has the boxes. In order to
prepare for your goals, begin thinking about how you are going to bring the
Walk-a-Thon back.
Generals: Gus, begin thinking about what questions the high school students
will answer when they come back to SJC. Jeffrey, think about what clubs you
want to create and how they will be organized.
Class representatives: Get a vote on Spirit Rally topics from your classes.
All: Make preparations to accomplish your Student Council goals!
Student Council Minutes-October 6, 2009
The meeting was “untraditional,” according to Mrs. Miller, because people need
to get their jobs done.
Religion: Work on the Trick or Treat for U.N.I.C.E.F. reach out project.
Publicity and Spirit: Get the birthday board done, and make sure you give out
birthday ice creams to birthday people. Also, make sure all of the Sally
Foster sale posters are complete. Class representatives should help you with
the posters. All of the Sally Foster sale dates are on Mrs. Miller’s door.
Generals: Write the script for the Sally Foster sale.
Athletics: Prepare all of the intramural games.
Finance: Make up the schedule for the student store, and finish writing the
script and flyers for the student store.
Secretaries: Make sure that the minutes include all of the current
responsibilities of the different offices.

Student Council Minutes-September 22, 2009
Absent: Gus
Athletics: The intramural game on 9/22 was canceled. All intramural teams,
games, and referees should be ready to start by Thursday.
Ecology: The skit and posters are complete. However, it needs revisions. The
skit and the posters should explain clearly which items go into which
containers. This should be completed by Monday.
Spirit: Go find birthday and un-birthday people in Grades 4-8 and ask them if
they would like their birthday ice-cream on the day they are celebrating their
birthday. Also, include a check-off list by Friday so no one will be
forgotten.
Finance: Start preparing for the Halloween raffle basket.
Religion: The prayer cloth and table are now set up. Decide on a date on which
to discuss Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. The Sally Foster sale will run all the
way until the 23rd.
Yearbook: The sign up for the yearbook committee is in October. Get the skit
approved by Mrs. Caropepe no later than Friday.
Everyone: Bring in $3 for the Halloween raffle basket. Regarding the carnival
karaoke, there will be one large group of student council members. These
people include Mitchel, Michael, Taylor, Gus, Jeffrey, Catie, Briana, Katrina,
and Lauren as Jerry the Jaguar. The selected theme for the Sally Foster sale
is Star Wars.
