Supply List

Fifth Grade Supply List
*Make certain your child has the necessary tools for each day of classes. Special items are 
sent in throughout the school year. Some items are used more often than others, such as 
Kleenex, and may have to be replaced after Christmas break.

Supply List for the Year 2012-13

A sturdy 3-ring binder
A backpack: no wheels
Binder tab dividers (plastic tabs attached to dividers)
10  3-hole folders with pockets and fasteners: please make certain that there are both 
pockets and fasteners for our unit studies
6 spiral notebooks (at least 70 pages each)
3 unopened packages of college ruled binder paper
6-8 sharpened #2 pencils
1 package of sharpened colored pencils
4-6 black ballpoint pens
3-5 red ballpoint pens
12" ruler with metric and standard inches (non-breakable, if possible)
1 box of crayons with at least 24 colors
1 package of standard graph paper
1 pair of scissors
2 large packets of index cards (1 white, 1 colored), 3"x5"
1 large box of sealed wipes
1 box of tissues
1 box of quart and/or gallon sized ziploc bags
5 glue sticks (students will turn in and the glue will be stored for use with projects)
1 sturdy zippered pencil pouch
1 box of water-based markers, 8 count or more
1 highlighter: yellow is the preferred color)

1 set expo dry erase markers (some type of eraser: a soft dishcloth or an old sock placed in 
a baggie w/ name on baggie)
Webster's Dictionary (latest edition) (There are some inexpensive dictionaries in Dollar Tree 
or perhaps Target; however, if you wish to invest in a sturdy hardcover one, it will last for 
a number of years.)
1 index box for index cards, vocabulary study
1 roll of paper towels in the wrapper
1 sturdy compass and 1 protractor

Items not needed: mechanical pencils, white out, gel pens

First day of school, your Fifth Grader needs 2-3 old magazines that can be used for cutting 
for activities, They will not be returned. Send in magazines that you no longer need 
throughout the year.



All supplies and sweatshirts must be labeled! Remember, keeping your supplies refilled 
and organized ALL YEAR long is your responsibility.
