Dear Parents:
The year is flying by. The first quarter ends tomorrow; the new quarter
begins Monday. We look forward to parent – teacher - student conferences and
the beginning of the holiday season in addition to our regularly scheduled
academic experiences. Report cards will be sent home Friday, November 6th.
Our sixth grade time at Astro Camp experiences provided them with many
memories to treasure. The flu did pay a visit and several came home ill.
They are generally doing well now. Thank you for supporting the hot lunch
program which helps to underwrite this wonderful experience.
Parent Conference forms are included in the Newsletter. Students are to
accompany their parents to the conferences. Conferences will include
discussions among the parents, students and teachers. Conferences will be
scheduled Friday, Monday and Tuesday, November 20th, 23rd and 24th. Please
complete and return the forms as soon as possible with your choices. Mrs.
Rose tries to make scheduling convenient for families of more than one
student, but does schedule on a first come first served basis.
Each year we help the parish provide food for the Thanksgiving baskets for St.
Vincent de Paul and our parishioners. A letter from student council regarding
this year’s collection will be sent home next week. We provide sustenance to
many of our own parishioners as well as the St. Vincent de Paul needy through
your generosity. November 16 – 19 are collection days.
Our annual Fall Book Fair will be open Sunday, November 15 through Friday,
November 20. Mrs. Young always has a fine selection of books. They are a
good choice for Christmas presents as well.
Thanksgiving is a time for sharing grateful hearts and our many blessings with
each other. Please keep those in our community who are confronting serious
illness and loss in your prayers. It is particularly difficult at this time
of the year.
We give God thanks!
Mrs. Mary Santoni
