I attained my teaching credential at San Diego State University prior to
moving back to the Bay Area. This is my second year teaching 5th grade, my
first year teaching at St. Patrick. I love to swim, bike, kayak, and read. My
family and friends are very important to me, as is my dog Raffi. My true
passion is teaching, and I look forward to this school year.
Education is about helping students become critical thinkers and life long
learners. They will be exposed to a variety of experiences, ideas, and
materials to enrich their minds. Students should leave my classroom with a
greater knowledge base than when they first entered. An effective environment
promotes positive learning experiences and provides a sense of security and
community. Within a safe and familiar setting students are confident enough
to take risks with their learning. I work hard to instill enthusiasm and urge
students to take an active role in their own learning. It's the student's
responsibility to make good decisions while in school. I strive to help
children develop their potential and realize they are all capable individuals.
