Prayers for Third Grade

Guardian Angel Prayer

Angel of God,
My Guardian Dear,
to whom God's love commits me here,
Ever this day be at my side,
to light and to guard,
to rule and guide.

Amen.

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
  creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
  He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
  the holy catholic Church,
  the communion of saints,
  the forgiveness of sins,
  the resurrection of the body,
  and the life everlasting. Amen.

                 Hail, Holy Queen

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy!
Our life, our sweetness, and our hope!
To thee do we cry, poor banished
children of Eve, to thee do we send
up our sighs, mourning and weeping
               in this valley, of tears.
            Turn, then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us; and
after this our exile show unto us the
            blessed fruit of thy womb Jesus;
O clement, O loving, O sweet virgin Mary.

(leader) Pray for us, O holy Mother of God

(group) That we may be made worthy of the
                         promises of Christ.

		Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who
fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was
left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother;
to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the
Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

Mysteries of the Rosary

Joyful Mysteries

The Five Joyful Mysteries

   1. The Annunciation (The Angel Gabriel gave Mary God’s invitation)
   2. The Visitation (Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth)
   3. The Birth of Our Lord (Jesus was born in a stable in Bethlehem)
   4. The Presentation of Our Lord
(Mary and Joseph took the baby Jesus to the Temple in Jerusalem forty days
after his birth to complete Mary's purification after childbirth, and to
perform the redemption of the firstborn, in obedience to the Law of Moses)
   5. The Finding of Our Lord in the Temple
(Jesus at the age of twelve accompanies Mary and Joseph to Jerusalem on
pilgrimage, following the custom of the feast of Passover. On
the day of their return, Jesus remained in the Temple, but Mary and Joseph
thought he had gone ahead of them. So Mary and Joseph went back home without
him, leaving Jesus in Jerusalem for the three days it took them to reach home,
realize their mistake, and return to Jerusalem. He was found in the Temple in
discussion with the elders who were amazed at his knowledge of the scripture,
especially given his young age.)
