Marvelous Monkey of the Week!

Each week a different student is chosen for Monkey of the week.

While your child is Monkey of the week, each day will consist of an exciting event or activity to honor him/her.

Monday: Sharing Sack- During the week before a student is Monkey of the week, a bag will be sent home with your child. Students will then collect special items with which to fill the bag at home and bring it back to school on Monday to share with the class.

Students should also bring 8-12 photos of their choice to display on the Monkey of the week bulleton board.

Tuesday: Favorite book- Monkey of the week brings 1 of his/her favorite picture books, (sorry no chapter books) to read, or have the teacher read to the class.

Wednesday: Parent Letter- Parents will write a letter to the class telling us about how special you are. Send a letter in a sealed envelope with your child, and I will read the letter to the class. The content of the letter is up to you, but you may want to coose from the following ideas:

Describe any special or funny stories the class might enjoy, write a silly or serious poem about your child, tell us some neat things we may not know about your child, send silly or special pictures and a letter that describes the pictures, write a short story about your child with him/her as the main character, or you may even send in a video of a silly or spcecial event.

Thursday: Lunch Buddy- If possible, join you child for lunch! You may also chose invite a sibling or a favorite reletive to be your child's lunch buddy. If you are unble to make these arrangements, let me know and I will plan a special lunch with your child. (lunch is 11:45-12:30)

Friday: Friendly Letters- The Explorer of the week will be presented with a book of friendly letters written by his/her classmates.
