EXTRA CREDIT: IF COMPLETED PROPERLY AND ON TIME CAN RAISE YOUR GRADE 3%. One per trimester. Copies of lesson are under classforms to be downloaded and printed if needed. LANGUAGE ARTS: 1. Write/type a formal letter to a government official 1st trimester: Mrs. Ledesma 2nd trimester: Governor of California 3rd trimester: President of the United States Letters must be in the business letter format. Type a letter: must be a minimum of three - four paragraphs. Self Addressed envelope / no stamp needed unless you would like it mailed. Please DO NOT seal the letter. SOCIAL STUDIES: 1. U.S. Government current event. Students will choose an a U.S. government related article: 1st trimester: the school/city level 2nd trimester: State (California) 3rd trimester: Federal level (Executive/Legislative/Judicial) 1. Cut out the article. 2. Read and highlight the important facts. 3. Create an answer sheet. Using complete sentences. Answer: Who, what,where, when, why, how 4. Type a three paragraph minimum summary of the article, make sure you use your own words. A fourth paragraph may be written stating your position on the topic. ***RAISE THOSE GRADES***: Social Studies: ALL TESTS SCORES THAT FALL BELOW 67% CAN BE 1.CORRECTED ON A SEPARATE SHEET OF PAPER, write out question and answer. 2.PARENT SIGNATURE ON TEST, near grade. 3.Completed correctly TEST WILL RECEIVE a 70%(C-) 4. Students will receive ONE WEEK to complete the work to "raise their grade" Language Arts: LITERATURE TEST SCORES THAT FALL BELOW 67% CAN BE 1. CORRECTED ON A SEPARATE SHEET OF PAPER Write out the question and the answer. 2. PARENT SIGNATURE ON TEST 3. Completed correctly the test will Receive a 70% C- 4. Students will receive ONE WEEK to complete the work to "raise their grade" Accelerator Reader Test: comprehension test 10 points will be due every 6 weeks/prior to progress reports and report cards.
