my son/daughter is absent , how can he/she obtain homework?

I will have assignments posted the day they are assigned. You may
access the
website and view the assignment. If there is a hand-out involved,
make prior
arrangements with me(to get it prior) or another student(to take
it home to
you).

Is there ever a good day for my son/daughter to be absent from School?

The real answer is no. There is learning going on every day in
school, any
day absent is a day the child is behind on the state standards.
If your
son/daughter does need to be absent for any reason, please make
sure it is
not on a Friday, which is the day of the week wee asses. When the
student
returns to school it will take two days to catch them up (one
assessment,
and one lecture make up).

Can my son/daughter turn in late work?

Yes, I ask that work be completed on time so that grading can be
done as
efficient and quickly as possible. However, circumstances will
occur where
the student is unable to complete the assignment. If a note is
returned with
the assignment (with a excusable reason) no more than a day late
full credit
will be given. If no legitimate excuse is given, half credit
will be
assigned.

Do you ofer extra credit?

My policy is I only give special assignments to students who
completed 100%
of their regular assignments. If I have a student who has
completed all of
the assignments and did not earn the grade they want I will give
them
something extra to bring them up to the grade they are content
with. If a
student has not completed 100% of the work, I will ask them to
complete the
missing assignments before extra credit is given. The only
exception to my
policy is in science. In the Study Guide "B" Between
the "Directed Reading
pages" in each chapter there are "Vocabulary and
Section Summary´┐Ż pages, I
will give 1 extra credit point per page completed.

What can I do If my child does not do well on a test or quiz?

I allow my students to make up any incorrect answers on any test
(math or
science) for half credit. However, I have three requirements. 1)
they must
redo the work on a different sheet of paper. 2) They must redo
every problem
that was incorrect. 3) They must clarify in a sentence or two
where their
error was.
