About The Teacher
Mrs. Winegar has been teaching at SMS since 1994. She graduated from the University of Florida and also has a Master's degree in Instructional Technology from San Jose State. Mrs. Winegar has had many leadership roles at SMS, including Math Dept. Chairperson, Technology Committee, and School Site Council. Mrs. Winegar and Mrs. Asato are the Mathcounts coaches for the math club that meets every Weds. in room F-2 at lunchtime. Math club participants gear up for competitions by learning many problem-solving strategies. Mrs. Winegar was also selected as SMS teacher of the year for the 2004/5 school year. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and reading. She loves math!
