For the month of February we will be working on the character trait of
Leadership, Initiative, and Teamwork. We will celebrate students who set good
examples for others, work to earn the respect of others, help others to
succeed, and strive to make their school and community a better place!
Our character of the week for this week is Hailey! Thank you for being such a
great leader at Sunrise Elementary!
Parent Volunteers Needed:
We are still in need of a parent volunteer to help make Dinosaur Eggs on
Tuesday, Feb. 23rd from 11-12:30 (minimum day). Please let me know if your
schedule permits you to volunteer.
Donations Needed (for upcoming Math activities):
• 42 boxes of conversational heart candies – needed by Thur., Feb 11th.
• 2 boxes of Lucky Charms cereal
• 20 dice
Please let me know if you are able to provide any of the above items.

NO school on Monday! Enjoy the 3 day weekend!
Friday, Feb. 12th is the end of the 2nd Trimester and the last day to earn
points towards AR goals.
Library: We enjoyed having Miss Sykes as our librarian, but she will be
leaving us. Please welcome our new librarian, Miss Rasher. We will continue
to go to the library on Wednesdays. Please return library books by Wednesday
so a new book can be checked out.
Valentine’s Day: On Friday, Feb. 12th, students may pass out Valentines.
This is optional. Please be sure to include everyone in the class.
Minimum Days: During the week of Feb. 22-26, we will have minimum days for
Parent-Teacher Conferences. These conferences are only required for some
students, but I am happy to meet with any parent who would like a
conference.
Box Tops & Labels for Education: Please continue to send in Box Tops and
Campbell’s soup can labels to earn money for our school.
We will have a Talent show on March 9th at 8:30 am. Permission slips are due
by Feb. 10th, and auditions will be on Feb. 16th at 2:35.
