Story vocabulry words are found under UNIT STORY VOCABULARY ICON 
section and 
are listed for the unit.

What is your homework policy?

Homework is expected to come to school finished and ready to go 
at 9:00 a.m. 
If a student doesn't finish it, he/she has until 3:00 pm to 
complete it for 
1/2 credit. I generally do not accept late homework, but life 
happens! So 
email me or send me a note, and let's talk!

Why does it seem like 6th grade is so hard?

The state standards ask a great deal of our kids! Oftentimes, the 
students 
are doing work that we adults were not doing in school until 
middle, or even 
high school! The standards ask that I teach skills that use the 
higher order 
thinking of application, analysis, evaluation and synthesis.... 
That means, 
that I have to expose them to these skills! Don't worry, they 
will get it! I 
will expose them all year, and I will challenge them, but they 
are amazing 
and intelligent!
