About The Teacher Label:
About The Teacher
This is my twelfth year teaching and my sixth year at Sycamore Canyon School. I am real excited to come back and teach a full schedule of two algebra honors courses, two algebra college prep courses, and one geometry honors course. I absolutely love my job...teaching and studying math is my passion and I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm and love for math with middle school students. I grew up in Agoura Hills and attended Agoura High School (class of 1993), earned by bachelors degree at UC Santa Barbara (class of 1997), then continued on to UCLA resulting in my Teaching Credential and Master's in Education. I met my husband, Brandon, in October of 2001. We got married on August 14, 2004 in beautiful Somis. We are so happy to be living in the Conejo Valley, where we both grew up, and we can enjoy all the outdoor activities we love all year long! We have one son named Myles Shayne who is nineteen months old. We are very happy and blessed!
Mission Label:
Mission
I believe that children learn best in a stimulating, creative, and caring environment that allows for and acknowledges individual differences and abilities. Self-esteem is critical for student achievement on all levels and they should be recognized for their accomplishments. I will work rigorously to foster your child’s unique potentials, to allow full development of his/her creativity and sensitivity, and to encourage personal integrity, love of learning and self-fulfillment.
