TRIMESTER TWO

12-9-09 We read part of Ch#5 Section 2 about the Whiskey Rebellion and 
President Washington's policy of neutrality.  I announced there will be a 
QUIZ on MONDAY on Ch#5 Sections 1 & 2 as well as information about symbolism 
on the dollar bill (worksheet from last Thursday).  Students then worked in 
their unit groups on rewriting their essays.  I handed out follow-up 
questions to each unit for discussion.  Homework:  Ch#5 Section 2 Review  
#1,2 and 3 (you don't have to write the question).

12-8-09 After correcting the homework, students received their corrected We 
The People first draft essays.  The unit groups worked on changes and the 2nd 
draft re-writes are DUE THURSDAY!

12-7-09 We read Ch#5 Section 1 of the textbook about George Washington's 
presidency.  Also, we viewed a History Channel profile on Washington and went 
on to discuss Alexander Hamilton's contribution to establishing the First 
National Bank of the United States.  Homework:  Guided Reading Activity 5-1 

12-3-09 All unit groups handed in their first draft essays.  I then gave a 
PowerPoint presentation on the symbolism of the U.S. $1 bill and students 
completed fill-in worksheet related to the lecture.  No Homework!

12-2-09 Students worked in their unit groups on developing their We The 
People essays.  1st draft is DUE TOMORROW!
