TUES, Sept 3
Welcome back to school!!!
cw (classwork)-  Demonstration, make observations, discuss "next question..."
                            bookmark Ms D's website to "favorites", 
hw (homework) - print any page from website as proof and turn in on Weds for grade
                            review class expectations hand out with parent and return signed form Weds for grade
                            sp2 - finish diagram, color and label from demonstration,
                                     write 2 sentences about what you learned

2 - 8 1/2" by 11"only spiral notebooks with pockets and                                                   plastic cover  with 100-150 pages -
                    sign up on AERIES so you can track your grades!!!!

cw - get familiar with class/expectations - outline, bathroom passes, pencil sharp, water, back packs, etc
        discuss yesterday's demo, fill out index cards

 finish conclusion for demo and draw picture of what Q you want to investigate next
         bring 2 spirals 8 1/2" by 11" for setting up both in class - for grade
         sign up on AERIES so you can track your grades!!!!

        number pages corectly, glue in info sheets - SPIRAL will be graded periodically - get it right!!!

Calculate perimeter of the triangle P = add all sides, calculate area using formula below

Learn formula for area of the triangle, A = 1/2 x base x height, put squared units

finish assembling Pangaea pieces onto sheet and glue
water color paint on top of glued Pangaea puzzle
begin rough draft of BBparagraph - in class - type and print - bring Friday
1 green, 4 yellow (4 pieces of evidence), 1 red to support each yellow, 1 green - 10 sentence minimum
TYPE at home and print out - landscape style  - put name and period in upper right corner, must have title
right + left, top + bottom margins should be about 2 inches each, so that it will fit under your Pangaea picture

Pangaea is the name of the ancient landmass made up of all the continents as we know them today. In the early 1900's, scientist Alfred Wegener found four pieces of evidence to support his Continental Drift Theory.
The first piece of evidence is the puzzle fit of the continents. (now put in supporting red sentence or two...)

color and cut Continental Drift Flip Book - so cool!!  BRING YOUR OWN COLORED PENCILS!!!!!
In class - begin Continental Drift FLIP BOOK - coloring - leave on sheet for grade
work on Number 12, 13, 14  FIRST - being sure to track one country at a time and color it from #12-14, then work backwards to complete #7-11
hw -work on FLIP BOOK - color finished on 7-14  - cut carefully
BRING BAGGIE or ENVELOPE (with name and period) on Monday to hold your cut pieces

assemble Pangaea  Project (typed 10 sentence paragraph and Pangaea puzzle sheet) and turn in - can turn in Monday for full credit, too - will accept these during class in the basket
remember to print landscape, color code sentences (g  yr yr yr yr g), put title, name and period - staple paragraph behind the painting, carefully cut opening in painting so that your paragraph can be read - turn in
