1. The class will create a list to be written on the board about What We Eat. The class will rate the food as healthy or unhealthy. 2. Get into your groups and talk(10 minutes) about what you want to feed the body machine for breakfast for one meal or in a day. 3. Choose a writer to list (using the board list as one resource) what the group decided to feed the machine. Choose a presenter to show the class the list. 4. The teacher will show a nutrition video to the class then discuss what was learned. 5. Each student will color a food pyramid they will print from http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/misc/food_guide_color_page.html 6. Each family will categorize their list according to the food pyramid. Each family member will complete an on-line food pyramid of at least one meal to determine the nutritional value. Each family will discuss their original choices, make changes where necessary and properly group their choices of what a healthy machine should eat before completing a pyramid poster to present to class.
