4th grade has several wonderful events planned for this school year. We will be participating in Gold Rush Day, 4th grade Field Trip in January, and many more exciting lessons and activities. My class will also be doing several oral reports throughout the school year. They will also be doing three formal reports with projects: Science Research and Experiment, Mission Report and Model, and the final one will be determined at a later date.
Students will be earning classroom money through out the school year. They will be learning about economics through our token economy and entrepreneurship through our swap meets. This is a great teaching tool that utilizes lots of math skills. Our first Swap Meet will be on Friday, October 26. Students can make a craft, gently used toys or books, or bake goodies (using fractions) to sell at our swap meet.
Homework for this week will be for 5 days and on the 6th day they will have their spelling test. Students need to read for 30 minutes and complete the reading log. This will allow us to be prepared for the next Essential Standards Test this month.
Students need to be prepared to learn every day with homework completed and supplies. Here is our class supply list. If, you are unable to provide any of these items, please let me know and I will try to provide them for your child.
