Where do I pick up my child?

The teacher will escort your child to the loading zone area in the parking
lot. All you have to do is pull up to the loading zone and the teacher will
put your student in the car. Please don't get out of the car.
If however, you would rather meet your child on foot, please park in a
parking spot labeled VISITOR or in the parking areas on Amalfi Drive. Your
child's teacher will still bring your child out to the front of the school.
Please do not come to the classroom door.

Can my child play on the playground before school?

Kindergarteners are not allowed to play out on the playground before school.
The K students need to come in the front gate of the school, hang up their
backpacks and then line up in front of their classrooms. They may socialize
with friends. Parents are welcome to wait with their children.
Students should not be on campus before 7:40.

Can I send treats with my child on his/her birthday?

In order to promote healthier habits, Irvine Unified has asked that
birthdays are celebrated at school without sugary snacks (cake, cookies,
cupcakes, etc.). Please talk to your child's teacher in advance if you want
to bring a different kind of treat.
Your child will receive a birthday crown from the teacher and be sung to by
all of his/her classmates.

Does my child need a snack everyday?

Yes, please send him/her with a snack everyday. Please keep in mind that we
have several students at Turtle Rock with peanut allergies, so please no
peanut butter(try sunflower seed butter!).
Please also try to remember necessary utensils.

My child's folder is ripped. What do I do?

Please try to keep the different folders (purple, green, library, conduit)
in good condition. Using clear packing tape on the rips helps, but you
replace the green and purple ones as needed. Be sure to write your child's
name on the folder with a permanent black marker. Ask your child's teacher
for a new conduit or library folder when they are beyond repair!
