About The Teachers

Mrs. Bowlen

The most important thing that you should know about me is that I LOVE
kindergarten! This is my 4th year at Turtle Rock, and my 6th year of
teaching in all. I earned both my B.A. and my teaching credential from
Chapman University in Orange, CA.

Outside of school, I love to spend time with my husband, Doug, and my
daughter, Samantha. Additionally, I like to read, go to the beach, golf,
play tennis, and watch the Food Network on TV.

Ms. Bass

I've been teaching for 20+ years; these have included preschool, kindergarten,
first grade, science K-4, and a science specialist 4-6. I love teaching
science but kindergarten is my favorite grade. I also LOVE working with my
kindergarten partners. I'm originally from Oklahoma and I received my B.S. in
Education from Oklahoma State. I also have a B.F.A. in Art from Cal. State
Fullerton.

In my spare time, Bryan and I are occupied with photography, bike riding,
drawing, hiking, and minor home improvement projects.

We have a cat named Topper, and two rabbits named Bogie and Bacall.

Mrs. Kaczynski

This is my twenty-fourth year of teaching. Twenty-two of them have been in
kindergarten. I began my teaching career at Park Private Day School in Costa
Mesa. After ten years there, I began teaching kindergarten at Santiago Hills
in Irvine. Two years later I found my home at Turtle Rock. I graduated from
California State University, Northridge with a BA in child development. From
there I went to San Diego State University and gruaduated with a BA in
liberal studies and also my teaching credential.

I am a mother of three young ladies. Emalee(20), Carlee(18), and Rylee(14).
They keep me very busy! My husband, Stephen, is also a teacher at Ensign
Intermediate School in Newport Beach. He has been very active in high school
football and girls track.

My second passion, teaching being the first, is animals!! I love them all.
From dogs to llamas. We have three dogs. Lola and James are pomeranians.
Tucker Tuesday is a silky terrier. We also have two cats Zoe and Skyler.
You can even find pets in our classroom. You will find a turtle and a
chinchillia.

I like to spend time at home with my kids and dogs. When I have the time, I
enjoy reading books and going out to dinner with my family.
