How often is homework assigned?

As a general rule, homework is assigned every day except Friday.  I usually 
do not assign homework the night before a chapter test or the day of the 
chapter test. I do, however, usually assign homework on the night before a 
quiz.

How often will there be a test?

There is usually a quiz every Friday and a chapter test every 2-3 weeks.

How are the grades assessed?

Homework is 20%, quizzes 35% and chapter tests are 45% of your overall class 
grade.  Periodically, there will be special projects which will count as 
either a quiz or a chapter test depending upon the difficulty of the project.

Will progress reports be given periodically?

Vandenberg Middle School sends home a progress report every six weeks.  This 
report shows where your child currently stands and is not their final 
grade.  Your child receives a final grade at the end of the first 
semester, which ends the third week of December, and at the end of the second 
semester, which ends the first week of June.  If you'd like a progress report 
earlier than the six week interim, please let me know and I will print one 
out for you.
