Welcome to second grade
Classroom Policies:
School starts at 8:35A.M. - 2:43 P.M.
Wednesday 8:35 A.M. - 1:48 P.M.
Tardies: Students arriving after 8:45 are considered tardy, and must check
in at the office.
Safety: If an adult other than yourself is going to pick up your child from
school, please make sure to indicate their name on your child's emergency
card. We will not release your child to anyone who does not have their name
on the emergency card. In special situations, please call the office or
myself with the adult's full name, and I will ask to see the adult's drivers
license to make sure the name on the license matches the name you give us.
Please pick your child up at the black gate outside of classroom 12.
If a child must leave school early for a particular reason, the parent must
go through the office first.
Absences: A note is required when your child returns to school after an
absence. No absences will be excused without a written or e-mail letter
from a parent or a phone call to our school office.
Lunch: Lunch is scheduled for 11:30p.m. Students may buy lunch in the
cafe' for $1.35, a meal ticket can be purchased in the cafe' or on line.
Uniforms: Your child must arrive each day in uniform. PTA sells
school shirts with logo. Tennis shoes are the safest shoe for school.
Sharing: Please have your child leave all toys at home. Students will be
sharing class work with their peers rather than sharing toys.
Parents are welcome in our classrooms. We encourage parents to participate
in and out of the classroom. We are looking for parent volunteers who can
come in one day a week and work with a small group of students during our
Language Arts Workshop time, 9:00-9:45. If you are intersted pleasse let
your child's teacher know.
