When is homework due?

The letter of the week page is due the day after the packet is given. (This 
page is used the next day in workshops.)  The rest of the homework is 
normally due on Friday or the last day of the school week.

What can we wear to school?

West Covina Unified School District does have a school uniform policy. (Blue 
jeans are not a part of the school uniform.) See the school office or Vine 
School Handbook for examples of uniforms.

When should my child read?

Read to or with your child for at least 15-20 daily.

Where should the students wait if the teacher is not in the classroom?

Students should take a seat on the benches outside of their classrooms 
before class, if the teacher is not present.  Since no teacher is on duty 
before school, students are not to play on the playground equipment before 
school.

Can my child bring candy or toys to school?

Please send a nutritious snack to school with your child. Some examples 
would be yogurt, fruit, crackers, half sandwich, juice.
NO TOYS ARE TO BE BROUGHT TO SCHOOL.

Why does my child need two containers for snack and lunch?

Your child will need to have their snack in a container with their name 
clearly written with the word Snack.  Lunch needs to be a separate container 
with their name clearly written with the word Lunch. When the child comes to 
school in the morning, there will be two different boxes for students to put 
Snack and Lunch containers.

What do I do with my child's lunch money?

Please put your child's lunch money in a closed baggie or sealed envelope 
with the child's name clearly written on the outside.
