-Research colleges
-Visit colleges
-Re-register for SAT Reasoning Test, SAT Subject Tests, ACT (if
needed).
Make sure colleges receive test scores directly from the testing company.
-Develop/update resume
OCTOBER
-Attend VHS College Night
-Attend North County College Fair
-Attend college preview days
-Visit with college reps
-Visit college websites and begin application process on-line
-Work on personal statement/essay
-File CSS PROFILE (if needed for private colleges)
-Obtain letters of recommendation (if needed)
-Obtain FAFSA Pin number at www.pin.ed.gov
NOVEMBER
-Submit UC/CSU applications on-line no later than 11/30
-Visit with college reps
-Complete VHS scholarship application no later than 11/30
DECEMBER
-Complete SAT Subject Tests (2 in 2 different subject areas) for UCs
-Visit colleges
-Last date to take SAT/ACT (Some colleges have earlier deadlines)
-Have all private college applications complete by holiday break
JANUARY
-Attend VHS Financial Aid Night
-Prepare financial aid forms (FAFSA/Cal Grants)
-Continue scholarship search
FEBRUARY
-Complete mid-year reports for private colleges
-Finalize financial aid forms
MARCH
-Deadline for Cal Grants-March 2
-UC/CSU acceptances
-Continue scholarship search
APRIL
-Review college acceptances
-Community College testing/applications (or March)
MAY
-UC Writing Exam
-CSU ELM/EPT Exams (if needed)
-Notify college of intent to register
-Thank teachers/counselors who wrote recommendations
JUNE
-VHS Senior Scholarship Evening
-Request final transcript-College must receive by JULY
