- Get and read college information:

- Strive for best grades (C or better required for college prep classes)
- Select appropriate senior year courses. Don't forget your year of
Visual/Performing Arts!
- Take ACT at actstudent.org and/or SAT at collegeboard.com in spring
- Take 2 SAT Subject Tests in two different subject areas at
collegeboard.com if needed (UC system and some private, selective schools)
Note: The Math SAT 2C (not 1C) is required for the UC System.
- File NCAA clearinghouse form if planning to compete in college athletics
at ncaaclearinghouse.net. Send SAT or ACT to Clearinghouse with code 9999.
- Visit with college representatives
- Visit, visit, visit college campuses, especially over the summer
- Attend college Spring preview days
- Create your "resume."
- Create a filing system to keep track of college information
- Work on your college personal statement/college essay over the summer
- Go to summer school if needed
- Continue to visit college campuses
EARLY SENIOR YEAR...
- Retake ACT at actstudent.org and/or SAT and/or SAT Subject Tests at
collegeboard.com if needed (latest is December date; some schools require
October or November date)
- Apply to UC at ucop.edu/pathways and CSU at csumentor.edu no later than
November 30. Websites usally open October 1.
- Apply to private schools by beginning of holiday break
(Some schools have earlier Part 1 deadline)
