What is SCRIP?

SCRIP is a non-intuitive word for gift card program. You buy gift cards from Weibel for your favorite stores and Weibel gets a percentage back from the vendors. The percentage we get back depends on the store and ranges from 2% - 20%. You simply use the gift cards like cash when you go shopping. So, the more you buy, the more we get. It is a way for you to support the school without spending any extra money. 

What are SCRIP revenues used for?

SCRIP revenues are used to support our Technology Fund. The Technology Fund provides for things such as new computers and monitors for the computer lab and laptops for the teachers.

How can I maximize my contributions through SCRIP?

You can maximize your support by:

-          purchasing “paper SCRIP” (gift certificates);

-          Registering your grocery store cards (e.g. Safeway or Raley’s) and credit/debit cards with eScrip.com;

-          Applying for and using an eScrip Visa Platinum card.  Visit eScrip.com to apply;

-          Asking your relatives, friends and neighbors to register their grocery store cards and/or credit cards to Weibel.  Then everytime they shop Weibel earns funds.

It seems too complicated. I’m not organized enough to plan out my purchases a month in advance. I always lose the cards. Can I still support the Technology Fund?

Yes you can! You can always make a flat donation to the Technology Fund($25/child suggested). In addition you can register your grocery and credit cards on eScrip.com. It takes about 5 minutes and a percentage of everything you purchase using the cards gets automatically sent to Weibel.

What about online purchases?

If you do a lot of online shopping, go through either the eScrip.com or schoolpop.com website and Weibel will automatically get a percentage of your purchases.

Does registering with Escrip.com really make a difference?
Yes, it does! Last year, we earned $2601.11 from September through April from eScrip with 299 supporters. The more supporters we have and the more cards you register, the more Weibel earns. You don’t even have to do anything extra at all after you register your cards. The money is deposited automatically. Turn the page over for an example of potential earnings through eScrip.com.

How do I register my cards on escrip.com or schoolpop.com?

Escrip.com – go to www.eScrip.com. Click on “Sign Up”. Choose “Weibel PTO” as the group. The group ID is 6584417. Follow the instructions to enter your grocery and credit card info. You can also go to the Weibel PTO website at http://teacherweb.com/CA/Weibel/PTO/h2.stm and click on the eScrip banner.

Schoolpop.com – go to www.schoolpop.com. Click on “Register”. Follow the instructions to register with “Weibel Elementary School”.

I always forget to pick up my SCRIP order from the SCRIP table or the SCRIP table hours are not convenient. Is there another way to get my SCRIP order?

HOW TO PURCHASE SCRIP

Download a SCRIP Order form and return it in your child’s Wildcat folder, at the SCRIP table, or into the SCRIP box at the office. We will let you know when the first SCRIP order is ready to go out.

SCRIP Table

The SCRIP table is located in front of the MUR by the back parking lot. The table will be open the week after each order goes out.

SCRIP Payment:

We accept personal checks for the exact amount of purchase. At this time we do not accept credit cards as payment.

** NOTE:  There is a $20 fee on all returned checks.
