Education Cuts Never Heal - The CA Budget Crisis

Education Cuts Never Heal

~ Support Public Education ~

Governor Schwarzenegger has proposed cutting over $4.8 Billion Dollars from California schools.

This is in addition to cuts that have been made over the last years that have never been restored.

What will these new budget cuts look like in Fremont unified?

·       Higher class sizes at the secondary level

·       Reduction in counseling services for students

·       Reduction in student transportation

·       Reduction of clerical and custodial services in our schools

·       No cost of living increases for any FUSD employee

The Fremont Education Coalition has been working hard to spread the message of “NO CUTS” because “EDUCATION CUTS NEVER HEAL.” ON Tuesday, June 19th, Superintendent Dr. Milt Werner, along with members of the Fremont Education Coalition representing parents, students, employees, school board members, met with legislators to lobby for no cuts to education.  Now we need your help!

What can you do?

1.    Stay informed! Visit the Fremont Education Website for current information

2.   Write to your legislators:

State Senator Ellen Corbett

Phone (510) 577-2310

FAX (510) 577-2308

Assemblyman Alberto Torrico

Phone (510) 440-9030

FAX (510) 440-9035

3.   Enlist help from others!

Encourage friends and family members who live in other parts of California to write and call their legislators with the same message.  The message of NO CUTS must be given to all legislators because public education throughout California is in crisis.
