Principal's Message:
When district and state funding falls short, our incredible PTO has been there to support us, for this we are grateful.  Our staff will always remember the PTO for their support in providing materials, FAME, technology, safety patrol, assemblies, family socials, volunteer hours and teacher appreciation. 

Kim Mathis has done an exceptional job as president of the PTO. 

We welcome the opportunity to work with Mrinalini Sharma, PTO president for the next year.  The PTO is a collective effort and our campus and students learning are the benefactors.

President's Message:
Dear Weibel Families,

This is the last Grapevine of the year. Can you believe it? For my family, it is our last year at Weibel. We move on to 7th grade at Horner. We hope that our experience there will be as wonderful as Weibel has been.

             We are so lucky here at Weibel to have a beautiful school and a spectacular staff. I believe the staff is grateful for the support the PTO provides to the school as well. It will be important for everyone to continue to work together in order for Weibel to remain an excellent school, and to get even better in the future in spite of the budget crisis we are facing.

             Personally, I’ve enjoyed serving on the PTO for the last five years. Since I work during the day, it has been difficult for me to volunteer much during school hours. So, attending the PTO meetings on a monthly basis is a way I believe I’ve made a contribution to the school. It’s been a great experience to work with the other Board and Committee members. Please take another look at the list of incredible people who stepped up to be a Board member, a Committee head, or both! These people deserve a round of applause!!

             The Volunteer Appreciation “Tea” on May 21st was a great opportunity to celebrate with and say THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who has volunteered during the year for the many activities at school like Picture Days, Book Fairs, Vision and Hearing screening, Wildcat Run, Ice Cream Social, Holiday Shopper, Safety Patrol, Student Store, Student Newspaper, FAME, Yearbook, to name a few.

             This was also the time to bestow special recognition on certain people who have gone “above and beyond”, not just this year, but over several years. This year the following people were recognized.
GIVE Awards:
Susan Wang – Wildcat Run, Science Fair, Safety Patrol, Room Parent, Carnival
Mrinalini Sharma – Wildcat Run (2 years), Science Fair, Math Night, Room Parent, Carnival
Fahria Khan – 2nd Vice President, Technology Fundraising, Membership, Room Parent for two classes (four door banners!
Selina Yuen – Parliamentarian, Newsflash, Room Parent Coordinator, etc., etc.
TOPS Award (Special Award for a 6th grade parent)
Prakash Narayan – Our Exceptional Technology Committee Chairperson for many, many years.
I was also given a special award. I am deeply honored to have received it.
Thank you, Best Wishes and Congratulations to Mrinalini Sharma as she takes over the helm of the Weibel PTO as President for the 2009 – 2010 school year beginning June 30, 2009. She’s going to do a great job. I can tell already!
