The Honesty, Tardy, Harassment, Discipline, Homework, Attendance, and Truant Policies of the school and district will be followed. Respect and courtesy are expected at all times by everyone in the classroom. Since disruptions interfere with the teaching and learning of students, it will not be tolerated.
Tests
The following math department policies shall apply:
ü No make-up tests are given except for an excused absence
ü No test score is to be “dropped”
ü Test grades are not scaled except possibly for the final exam
Tardies
ü Students who are not in the room when the tardy bell rings will be assigned a tardy.
ü Students who need to leave class to get books or supplies will also be assigned tardy.
ü Students tardy or gone form class for more than 30 minutes will be assigned an absence.
At 5 tardies, student will be contracted and assigned a Saturday Work Study.
At 8 tardies, student will be assigned another Saturday Work Study.
At 10 tardies, student will be dropped from the class with a grade of “Fail”, regardless of current grade.
Restroom
Students are given 4 restroom passes per quarter. After the 4 passes are used, tardies will be assigned.
Truancy
Students not in assigned seat unless instructed to do so will be marked as Unexcused Absent.
At 3, 4, or 5 truancies, student will be assigned a Saturday Work Study.
At 6 truancies, students will be dropped from the class with a grade of “Fail”, regardless of current grade.
Absences & Make-up Work
Absent students are expected to keep up with homework and classwork. All students with excused absences will be allowed to make-up missed work. It is the student’s responsibility to request make-up assignments immediately upon return to school. If a long absence is anticipated, please arrange to keep up with the class while out of school. Time allowed to complete these assignments is at the discretion of the teacher.
Tests: Students who are absent on a test day need to turn in their assignments upon their return. Make-up test must be taken within 5 days after the test date, before or after school, during lunch.
Students who do not make up the test within the 5-day period shall receive a “0” for that test.
Late Assignments
All students are entitled to one grace late per semester. After that, all late assignments will be accepted for half credit. Students can only make up work assigned in the current chapter or the previous chapter. Special circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Academic Honesty & Integrity
Students are expected to maintain the highest standards of academic honesty and integrity. Academic dishonesty will result in a grade of “F” for the assignment, conference with parents/guardians, and application of school and district policies.
